some days don't go as planned..

I feel like I need to write a post because my day is feeling a little heck-tick.  I was trying to get home from class quickly today on my bike because there was a lot I wanted to get done this afternoon.  I was halfway home when my crank arm almost completely fell of my bike (cross bike). 

Seriously? 

Thank god there was a bike shop at the bottom of the hill that I jet into.  Unfortunately the crank arm is worn out and I have to order another one, which potentially means having to take the bus to school tomorrow.. or potentially means riding my bike equipped with tools to fix it if it comes loose again.

I'm feeling a little tired because I ran 60km in 4 days, including a 20km workout with Shauna in the park.  We ran 12km as 6* 1km 3:45 pace, 1km 4.15 pace.  Well that was the goal anyways, but of course we did our first km in 3.33 and then our first recovery km in 4minutes and after km 3 I was pretty much spent. That was my second run workout since the Sun Run!  The first was last week - 6x1km with 2 min rest.  That one went a little bit better.  I averaged 3.30's and didn't blow up.  Not bad for my first workout I'd say. 

So anyways yesterday I decided would be a recovery day.  I hadn't been out on my road bike in a while so I text my friend Steve to see if he wanted to go for a spin.  Of course he suggested we ride out to Horseshoe Bay and back, so my recovery spin turned into a 2hr hilly ride!   The whole time I was thinking why am I doing this?  haha but it was super fun.
